Student orientation is a week-long program covering a wide range of student information and services that are aimed at improving your learning journey with the college.  

 The information provided on the day covers the following:

More information about the orientation schedule will be sent to you after enrolment in the weeks prior to the start of semester, but please keep the week free as you may be required to attend on all days of the week, depending on the course you are enrolled in. Specific dates for each course can be found below.

Important: Orientation is a compulsory event that all students must attend. If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact assistant.registrar@excelsia.edu.au to discuss. However, please be mindful that it is possible for your enrolment to be cancelled or deferred if you are not able to attend this program.

Below you will find the relevant orientation dates for your course.

Where orientation is indicated as compulsory, you should ensure that you are able to attend, as it forms a mandatory part of your course enrolment.

Orientation by Course

Course: Master of Business Administration, Master of Business (Research) and Bachelor of Management and Entrepreneurship

Semester 1, 2020: February 24 to 28 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

Semester 2, 2020: August 3 to 7 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

September Intake, 2020: September 7 to 11 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory. Information will be sent to successful applicants regarding which 3 of the 5 days they will be required to attend.

Course: Master of Counselling (including Grad. Certificate and Grad. Diploma)

Semester 1, 2020: February 24 to March 5 (students required to attend all 9 days)

Semester 2, 2020: August 3 to 13 (students required to attend all 9 days)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory. Some programs and registration will be held on-site, but additional off-site activities that are more fun and casual are also included to help build stronger community ties amongst the students and staff. More information will be provided to successful applicants after enrolment.

Course: Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (including Diploma)

Semester 1, 2020: February 24 to 28 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

Semester 2, 2020: August 3 to 7 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

September Intake, 2020: September 7 to 11 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory. Information will be sent to successful applicants regarding which 3 of the 5 days they will be required to attend.

Course: Master of Education

The Master of Education has a rolling intake across the year in each of the six teaching periods. Please consult the Master of Education course page for more information or contact the Program Coordinator for more details.

Course: Master of Teaching (Primary) and Master of Teaching (Secondary)

Semester 1, 2020: February 17 to 21 (students required to attend on all 5 days)

Semester 2, 2020: July 6 to 10 (students required to attend on all 5 days)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory.

Course: Bachelor of Dramatic Art (including Associate Degree)

Semester 1, 2020: February 24 to 28 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

Semester 2, 2020: (no intake for new students)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory. Information will be sent to successful applicants regarding which 3 of the 5 days they will be required to attend.

Course: Bachelor of Music (including Associate Degree) and Master of Music

 Semester 1, 2020: February 24 to 28 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

Semester 2, 2020: August 3 to 7 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)

These are compulsory orientation programs for all new students and attendance on all days is mandatory. Information will be sent to successful applicants regarding which 3 of the 5 days they will be required to attend.

Course: Bachelor of Screen Production

Trimester 3, 2020: August 31 to September 4 (students required to attend 3 of the 5 days)
