Campus Culture and Student Life

Excelsia College is located in the heart of Macquarie Park on Waterloo Road.
Macquarie Park is a nationally significant research and business centre, with a number of education institutions in the area alongside specialist companies in the communications, medical research, pharmaceutical and IT&T sectors.
Macquarie Park is located 12km from the Sydney CBD and 13km from Parramatta and is easily accessible by public transport including direct rail access.
Excelsia College is a short walk from Macquarie Shopping Centre which offers a diverse range of food and other outlets.


Orientation is your first introduction to Excelsia College as a student. You’ll be provided with the necessary information and preparation for the commencement of your course, including:

  • Enrolment procedures
  • Financial information
  • Student ID cards (includes travel concession for those eligible)

Orientation also gives you the chance to meet the Excelsia College community through get-togethers, activities and events


Spiritual Life

The weekly campus chapel, the Gathering, features talks from guest speakers, creative presentations, worship times and general announcements. Each faculty also has specific student chapels to foster a culture of learning and community.


Social Activities

Throughout the year, the College hosts many social events for students. Beginning with a Campus party at Orientation, we hope you see instantly why the Excelsia College community is so contagious!

During semester, look forward to activities run by the student council, including college-wide events and social nights, weekly gatherings and chapels, and BBQs.


Student Council

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is an elected body representing students’ interests and promoting activities that benefit the College's community. Students in each discipline, including international students, elect two student representatives who will work closely with their respective Head of Schools to articulate and implement a vision for enhancing student well being and resolving issues of concern whenever they arise.


Student representatives also assist Excelsia College leadership with activities to develop leadership skills, provide moral and spiritual direction for the student body, and support the mission, vision and values of the College.

It is important to enjoy your city and your campus without having to worry about your safety being jeopardised. The form below offers some tips that will assist to protect you from unsafe situations.

A variety of student accommodation is available in Sydney, whether it be a lodge, private renting or a home stay.
Student Housing is a great place to meet other students living in Sydney. Usually accommodation is in single bedroom/study or twin-share bedrooms with individual study areas. Meals are generally served in the dining room, and there are indoor and outdoor common areas. The Housing Supervisors provide meals and take care of general household management. Robert Menzies College

Robert Menzies College (RMC) is a wonderful place to live. It is a diverse community of students in a similar stage of life.
RMC is located opposite the Macquarie University train station and is either a single train stop or a walk from Excelsia College.
RMC's community consists of Australian and international students and has a variety of social events throughout the year. It is a university-based living and learning community with strong academic and pastoral support. Five Christian families live on site to provide support to students and RMC offers valuable opportunities for Christian leadership and service.
Accommodation for men and women comprises of 300 single bed, fully furnished rooms in six residential blocks. Students from all over the world help make up the friendly and welcoming community for which Robert Menzies College is known.

All rooms include a single bed, desk, chair, storage cupboard, bookshelves, free internet and phone. Choose from private ensuite, shared gender-specific bathrooms, private kitchen, or shared kitchens.
Meals @ RMC
Options include fully-catered, semi-catered or self-catered. Packed lunches and late dinners are available.
Features @ RMC
Academic Tutors including in Academic English, pastoral support, non-denominational church on-site, social, cultural and sporting programs, free gym membership, scholarships available for local and international students, gated premises and study rooms. To rent property in Sydney, tenants are usually required to provide character references and statements confirming your history of paying rent on time or bank statements showing your capacity to do so. Using a Private Vehicle

Parking is free, although you will need to register your car with Administration so we know that you are entitled to park on our property.


Going by Public Transport

Using public transport can be a cost effective way to get to college. Depending on where you come from, there are several bus options.

If you have access to the rail system, the easiest way is to catch a train to Macquarie Park Station. Our campus is a 6 minutes walk from Macquarie Park Station, or an 11 minute walk from Macquarie University Station.
